Behind the Words

     My name is Lorie Dawn Castro. I was born and raised in sunny California. Here, I find nothing more  pleasant than being outdoors on a warm, cloudless day with a rescue dog by my side.

     I am married to my best friend and high-school sweetheart. When I am not spending time with my family or pets, I enjoy writing, history, hiking, traveling, cooking, and advocating for animals. 

 

     As a writer and a dreamer, I am ardent about letting my inspiration guide me. Compassionate and curious, I seek the emotion at the heart of a story. I love to learn and constantly strive to gain knowledge though continued education, reading, and life experiences.

 

     I received a Masters Degree in American History and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Creative  Writing and English (summa-cum laude) from Southern New Hampshire University. I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
